Mahindra Thar Roxx, XUV 3XO, and XUV 400 Achieve 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating

In a significant milestone for Mahindra & Mahindra, three of its SUVs – the Mahindra Thar Roxx, XUV 3XO, and XUV 400 – have achieved the prestigious 5-Star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test assessment. These ratings highlight Mahindra’s commitment to safety, with all three vehicles scoring five stars for both adult and child occupant protection.

Thar Roxx Sets a New Benchmark

The Mahindra Thar Roxx has made history by becoming the first body-on-frame SUV to earn a 5-star safety rating under Bharat NCAP. This rugged off-roader scored 31.09 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection, setting a new benchmark for SUVs with internal combustion engines.

Strong Scores for XUV 3XO and XUV 400

The XUV 3XO, an updated version of the popular XUV 300, also performed exceptionally well. It scored 29.36 out of 32 in adult occupant protection and 43 out of 49 in child occupant protection. Its sibling, the XUV 400, an electric SUV, achieved an even higher score of 30.38 out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 43 out of 49 in child occupant protection.

Enhanced Safety Features

A key contributor to the XUV 3XO’s high safety scores is its extensive range of standard safety features. The SUV comes equipped with:

  • Six airbags for enhanced protection.
  • Three-point seatbelts for all passengers.
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC) to improve vehicle stability.
  • Seatbelt Reminder (SBR) to ensure passengers use seatbelts.

Higher trims of the XUV 3XO offer Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)Lane Departure WarningLane Keep Assist, a 360-degree camera systemTyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Brake Locking Differential (BLD) for additional support and safety.

Impressive Demand for Mahindra SUVs

Mahindra’s focus on safety has resonated with consumers. The Thar Roxx garnered over 1.76 lakh bookings within an hour of opening reservations, while the XUV 3XO has maintained a steady sales pace, averaging over 9,000 units per month since its launch.

Both the Thar Roxx and XUV 3XO include advanced safety measures such as six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, and a Blind View Monitor through a 360-degree camera system. Additionally, the Level 2 ADAS suite and ESC enhance driving safety and ease.

With these recent Bharat NCAP ratings, Mahindra has solidified its position as a leader in automotive safety in India, offering customers robust, secure, and feature-rich SUVs across its lineup.
