Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e Exterior Unveiled Before November 26 Debut

Mahindra & Mahindra is set to unveil its first dedicated electric SUVs, the BE 6e and XEV 9e, at the Unlimit India event in Chennai on November 26, 2024. These SUVs mark Mahindra’s commitment to electric mobility, built on an advanced skateboard platform that ensures optimized space, battery efficiency, and a futuristic design.

Bold Design with Signature Lighting Elements

The Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e bring Mahindra’s new design language to life. Both SUVs showcase striking LED daytime running lights, connected light bars, and an upright, sporty front fascia. The BE 6e, inspired by the BE.05 concept, and the XEV 9e, derived from the XUV.e9 concept, feature dynamic coupe-like rooflines. Each model has a distinctive sporty profile with a steeply angled front windshield, short overhangs, and a large greenhouse, reinforcing their high-riding SUV stance.

SUV Styling and Spacious Interiors

Both models boast bold SUV styling with large, aerodynamic alloy wheels and prominent wheel arches, enhancing their commanding road presence. The interiors are expected to offer a premium experience, including a panoramic sunroof, flat-bottom steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a futuristic triple-screen layout, underscoring a luxurious cabin feel. Built on Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard platform, the BE 6e and XEV 9e maximize cabin space and boot capacity with wheels positioned at the edges, ensuring ample legroom and a flat floor layout.

Advanced Powertrain and Range

While detailed powertrain specifications are still under wraps, the BE 6e is anticipated to offer competitive performance with options for both single and dual motor configurations. Expected to compete with the recently launched Tata Curvv EV, the BE 6e will likely feature a Valeo-sourced electric motor, producing 231 hp and 380 Nm of torque, with power directed to the rear wheels. Mahindra is expected to offer two battery options: a 60 kWh pack and a larger 79 kWh pack, with the latter aiming for a WLTP-certified range above 450 km.

Potential Future Models

The XEV 9e, which draws design cues from the XUV.e9 concept, may eventually lead to an XEV 8e variant, inspired by the XUV.e8, blending elements of the popular ICE-based XUV700 model. This expansion could further solidify Mahindra’s place in the electric SUV market as it competes against other automakers in the segment.

Both Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e showcase Mahindra’s ambition to advance electric SUV offerings, bringing high performance, spacious design, and premium features to the electric vehicle market.
