KTM 390 Adventure 2025 Lineup to Include Multiple Variants – Adventure R, Enduro R, and SMC R

KTM is gearing up to launch the next generation of its 390 Adventure series, including the Adventure R, Enduro R, and SMC R variants. These motorcycles, inspired by KTM’s larger adventure models, were recently showcased at the 2024 EICMA show in Milan and are set to make their Indian debut at the upcoming India Bike Week (IBW) next month. With updates to design, mechanical components, and features, these new variants aim to cater to diverse riding preferences.

Design and Features of the New KTM 390 Adventure Series

The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R stands out with its vertically stacked LED projector headlights, tall transparent windscreen, and pronounced front beak. It features a minimalist body design and a sleek rear profile, emphasizing its adventure-focused ethos. Built around a newly designed steel trellis frame, it boasts WP adjustable USD forks at the front and an offset monoshock at the rear, delivering top-tier suspension performance.

The Adventure R rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels with tubed tyres, ensuring off-road readiness. Braking is handled by disc brakes on both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS. Additional advanced features include a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, ride-by-wire throttle, bi-directional quickshifter, switchable ABS, and traction control.

Engine and Performance

All variants are powered by the new 399cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine, derived from the latest 390 Duke. This powertrain is paired with a six-speed gearbox and delivers ample power for adventure and off-road riding. The Adventure R is expected to compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the upcoming TVS 300cc Adv in the Indian market.

KTM 390 Enduro R and Supermoto R

The KTM 390 Enduro R is designed as a hardcore off-road machine, featuring a hexagonal LED headlamp, sharp cowl, raised front fender, and all-LED lighting. With its flat seat and side-mounted exhaust, it emphasizes rugged off-road capability. It shares the same suspension, engine, and braking components as the Adventure R, though with adjustments tailored to off-road demands.

The Supermoto R, while visually similar to the Enduro R, is designed for more dynamic and sporty on-road performance. It differentiates itself with unique wheel and tyre configurations better suited for urban and track environments.

Launch Timeline

While the Adventure R and Enduro R are expected to hit the Indian market soon after their IBW showcase, the road-biased Adventure X and Supermoto R could follow at a later date. With this lineup, KTM is set to offer an array of options for adventure enthusiasts, off-road riders, and Supermoto fans.
