Hyundai Confirms 26 Upcoming Models for India – Electric, Hybrid & Petrol Cars

Hyundai Motor India is preparing a massive product blitz for the Indian market, with 26 new vehicles lined up by the end of FY2030. Out of these, 20 models will feature internal combustion engines (ICE), while six new vehicles will be fully electric, signaling the brand’s strong intent to dominate both traditional and emerging segments.

Currently, Hyundai’s EV lineup in India includes the Ioniq 5 and the recently launched Creta Electric. However, the brand has given a glimpse of its broader EV vision through Auto Expo showcases like the Ioniq 6 sedan and the Ioniq 9 flagship SUV.

Hybrid and Electric Push

Hyundai is also looking to embrace hybrid technology, with the next-generation Hyundai Creta and an all-new three-row SUV (slotted between the Alcazar and Tucson) expected to debut with hybrid powertrains by 2027.

Buoyed by the early success of the Creta Electric, the company appears committed to accelerating its EV strategy in India. Hyundai will focus on SUVs in its upcoming electric portfolio, mixing locally produced and globally sourced models to cater to a wide price spectrum.

Next-Gen Venue, Compact EVs Incoming

Leading Hyundai’s new product wave will be the next-generation Venue, likely to arrive before 2026. It will feature updated styling, a thoroughly refreshed interior, and possibly even a new electric variant under development.

Another key addition could be a compact electric crossover based on the Inster EV, which is already on sale overseas. This model is being customized for the Indian market and is expected to launch by 2026, targeting entry-level EV buyers and rivaling cars like the Tata Punch EV.

Hyundai is also working on a new compact SUV derived from the global i20-based Bayon, adding to its small SUV arsenal.

Updates for ICE Models Too

Hyundai isn’t ignoring its ICE lineup either. The company is preparing facelifts and updates for popular models like the Grand i10 Niosi20Exter, and Verna over the next 12 to 18 months. A mid-cycle update for the Creta Electric is also rumored, likely arriving by 2027.

Localization and Charging Infrastructure Focus

Alongside product launches, Hyundai plans to ramp up local manufacturing of EVs and invest in charging infrastructure across India. These steps are aimed at ensuring the brand remains competitive in the rapidly evolving Indian EV landscape.
