Honda Cars India has launched a new special version of its popular City sedan – the Honda City Sport Edition – with prices starting at ₹14.88 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant comes with stylish cosmetic upgrades to give it a sportier and more premium appearance, but it retains the same engine and mechanical setup as the standard model.
What’s New in the City Sport Edition?
The main highlight of the City Sport Edition is its blacked-out styling elements, which set it apart from the regular version. The wide chrome bar on the front grille has been replaced by a glossy black strip, while the front grille itself has been blacked out. The ORVMs (outside rearview mirrors) also sport a dark finish, and there’s a ‘Sport’ badge on the boot lid, adding to the exclusive appeal.
At the back, the sedan features a sleek black lip spoiler, giving it a subtle yet stylish upgrade. The grey alloy wheels, shark fin antenna, and colour options – Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Meteoroid Gray Metallic – further enhance its sporty presence.
Interior Changes
Inside the cabin, the City Sport Edition continues the dark theme with an all-black interior. The seats and dashboard trims are finished in black, while red contrast stitching on the steering wheel adds a touch of sportiness. Apart from these cosmetic tweaks, no changes have been made to the equipment list.
Engine and Transmission
Mechanically, the Honda City Sport Edition uses the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine, which produces 121 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque. It is available only with a CVT automatic gearbox, and the regular 6-speed manual transmission is not offered in this special edition. There are no performance upgrades – the changes are purely visual.

Features and Tech
Despite being a sportier-looking version, the City Sport Edition continues to offer premium features like:
-
Honda Sensing (ADAS safety suite)
-
Touchscreen infotainment system
-
Paddle shifters
-
Grey alloy wheels
-
Shark fin antenna
Limited Availability
Honda has mentioned that the City Sport Edition will be available in limited numbers. While sedans are facing declining sales due to the growing popularity of SUVs in India, this special edition could attract buyers who prefer a sedan with a unique and sportier style.
