Kia has officially revealed the 2026 EV9 electric SUV for the U.S. market, bringing several updates including a new Nightfall Edition and improved driving range across variants.
Nightfall Edition Adds Unique Styling and Features
One of the most notable additions to the 2026 Kia EV9 lineup is the new Nightfall Edition, which is exclusive to the Land AWD trim. This special edition adds a bold, dark-themed design featuring 20-inch gloss black wheels, blacked-out exterior accents, and exclusive interior updates.
A new Roadrider Brown exterior color has been introduced, and the interior now includes unique stitching and cabin trims, emphasizing the distinct character of the Nightfall Edition. Buyers can also choose between six- and seven-seat configurations at no additional cost, maintaining flexibility for different family needs.
Updated Terrain Mode Enhances Off-Road Capability
Replacing the previous 4WD system, the 2026 EV9 now features an updated Terrain Mode with dedicated presets for Snow, Mud, and Sand. This allows drivers to better adapt to varying driving conditions, increasing control and traction on challenging surfaces.
Extended Range Across Variants
Kia has also improved the range figures for its flagship electric SUV:
-
Light Long Range now offers an estimated 491 km per charge
-
Wind and Land trims deliver up to 455 km
-
GT-Line is slightly lower, with a projected 451 km range
These updates make the EV9 more competitive in the growing electric SUV segment.

The 2026 Kia EV9 retains its dual battery options—76.1 kWh and 99.8 kWh—with power outputs of 201 hp, 215 hp, or 379 hp, depending on the variant. Acceleration times range from 0–96 km/h in 8.8 seconds for base models, down to 5.0 seconds for the top-performance variant.
